Breeder. Owner. Builder.

Lynn Chouinard has been an influencer in Alberta’s thoroughbred industry for over 30 years. He’s a supporter of the racing industry at all levels, and has won just about every award, including the prestigious CTHS Horseperson of the Year.

Lynn was a visionary leader in Thoroughbred racing in Alberta. He claimed his first horse in 1978, and fell in love with the horses, the people and the thrills of the game. He and his wife Cheryl purchased what is now Bar None Ranches in the early 1980’s and Lynn has been a leader in all aspects of the industry ever since. The familiar Bar None silks have been seen in over 3,500 races, they’ve had over 660 wins and $8,300,000 in earnings, but it’s Lynn’s irrepressible spirit that people most associate with his stable.

Lynn was instrumental in bringing a new track to the Calgary area when Stampede park closed, and we are so grateful that he was able to watch his horses race and win at Century Downs this fall during the inaugural Thoroughbred season.

Our condolences to Lynn’s family and friends and the Bar None Ranches team.
