Directive No. 172-2020 — Standardbred

The Rules Governing Horse Racing in Alberta are AMENDED as follows:

Chapter 3: General Horse Racing Rules, Part 6 Standardbred Racing, Division 7 Driving Rules

The following Rule 469 s is AMENDED to read:

Rule 469 s Choking or bleeding to be reported

If a horse chokes or bleeds during a race, the driver and/or trainer of that horse is required to report this to the Judges immediately after the race. This information shall be contained in the official past performance line of that horse.

Rule 469 s Choking or bleeding to be reported previously stated:

If a horse chokes or bleeds during a race, the driver of that horse must report the choking or bleeding to the official veterinarian immediately after the race and that information must be entered into the official past performance line of that horse.
