Directive No. 165-2020 — Standardbred

The Rules Governing Horse Racing in Alberta are AMENDED as follows:

Chapter 3: General Horse Racing Rules, Part 6 Standardbred Racing, Division 7 Driving Rules

The following Rule 470 sis AMENDED to read:

Rule 470 s Broken equipment to be reported

If for any cause other than being interfered with, or broken equipment, a horse fails to finish after starting a race, that horse shall be ruled out. If it is alleged that a horse failed to finish a race because of broken equipment, this fact must be reported to the paddock judge who shall make an examination to verify the allegation and report the findings to the Judges.

Rule 470 s Broken equipment to be reported previously stated:

All broken equipment must be reported by the driver concerned to the paddock judge or starter who must make an examination to verify the report.
