In the opinion of the Board of Judges, OWNER/TRAINER/DRIVER, AUTHORIZED AGENT, JOHN BRANDON SCOTT CAMPBELL, PERM. ADD.: CALGARY, ALBERTA, CANADA, D.O.B. JULY 11, 1994, did violate HORSE RACING ALBERTA Rule 123(1)(2); Any person who is responsible for a racehorse stabled on the grounds of a racetrack for the purpose of racing must ensure that a negative test for equine infectious anemia (Coggins test) dated in the preceding 12 months (365 days), has been issued with respect to that horse. No person may bring a horse onto the grounds of a racetrack or permit the entry of a horse onto the grounds of a racetrack, unless a certificate of a negative test for equine infectious anemia has been issued with respect to that horse in accordance with subsection (1); for having a horse shipped in without a current negative Coggins test.

DECEMBER 31, 1984, did violate HORSE RACING ALBERTA Rule 298(1) and 300(1)(a); In accordance with Section 16 of the Act, a racing official designated to carry out inspections and other functions and duties under Section 16(1) may on, at or near a race track, on demand, take samples of breath and bodily fluids from a racing participant. A racing official or racing participant violates these rules if they report to work with blood/alcohol concentration reading of more than 50 milligrams of alcohol in one hundred milliliters of blood.

In accordance with HORSE RACING ALBERTA Drug and Alcohol Policy dated September 1, 2019, and HORSE RACING ALBERTA Rule 296(1)(a)(2)(a)(b) and 300(1)(b)(c)(2)(c) after supplying a BODY FLUID SAMPLE on Saturday, August 2, 2025, that resulted in a POSITIVE SAMPLE TEST for a NON ILLICIT DRUG confirmed by Dynacare Laboratories on Thursday, August 7, 2025.

PENALTY: JUSTIN CURRIE is hereby FINED THE SUM OF THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($300.00) AND SUSPENDED FROM BACKSTRETCH DUTIES FOR A PERIOD OF TEN (10) CALENDAR DAYS, AUGUST 7 – 16, 2025 (INCLUSIVE). Following his suspension, provided JUSTIN CURRIE pays his fine and provides a negative sample test at his own expense, he will be considered for re-instatement.
