The final three days of live racing at Rocky Mountain Turf Club this weekend, Saturday, Sunday and Thanksgiving Monday, will feature thrills for everyone. The various stakes races are the Derby for three year olds, as well as a stakes race for the older colts and geldings, along with another stakes race, "The Dating Game Stakes", for fillies and mares.
There is also the now famous, "Keep on Keepin' On" race to honor those with a horse-racing history in Alberta that have passed away. This race is for those who have lost friends and family over the years and to honor them as well for Keepin' on with life.
The rider standings for leading rider are very congested at the moment. It will come down to the final race the way things are going as Trevor Simpson, Blandford Stewart and Alexi Rizo are all within a couple of race wins from each other.
Record handles have been a pleasant reality for Rocky Mountain Turf Club this fall and this weekend should see some new records broken with seven races Saturday, and eight races Sunday and Monday.
Rocky Mountain Turf Club would like to thank the racing fans, the riders, trainers, grooms, out riders and owners. But most of all, we want to thank the horses who provide the excitement and action at the track. It all starts with the horses.
