The Rules Governing Horse Racing in Alberta are AMENDED as follows :
Chapter 3: General Horse Racing Rules, Part 6 Standardbred Racing, Division 7 Driving Rules
The following Rule 459 s is AMENDED to read:
Rule 459 s Drivers to remain mounted
A driver must be mounted in the race bike at the finish of the race or the horse must be placed as not finishing.
A horse shall be placed as not finishing where the driver at any time during the running of the race was not mounted in the race bike but was mounted in the race bike at the finish of the race. In such case, the Judges may invoke the provisions of Rule 448 if they deem it in the public interest to do so.
If, during the preliminary scores or during a race a driver is unseated in such a manner that he/she falls to the ground, the Judges may direct the drive to report to the paramedics or first respondents or to the emergency department of the nearest hospital for examination and receive written clearance to continue with driving assignments on that day of racing.
A driver is unseated and appears to have been injured, the horse that was being driven by that driver may compete with a substitute driver.
Rule 459 s Drivers to remain mounted previously stated:
Drivers must be mounted in their sulkies from the starl to the finish of the race or the horse the driver is driving may be disqualified.
