Directive No. 152-2020 — Standardbred

The Rules Governing Horse Racing in Alberta are AMENDED as follows:

Chapter 3: General Horse Racing Rules, Part 6 Standardbred Racing, Division 6 Racing Rules

The following Rule 436 s is AMENDED to read:

Rule 437 s Driver's colours

Drivers must wear distinguishing colours, and shall not be permitted to drive in a race or other public performance unless, in the opinion of the Judges, they are well groomed and properly attired in clean driving outfits. During inclement weather conditions, drivers must wear rain suits made in their colours or made of a transparent material through which their colours can be distinguished. No person may use more than one design at any one time, unless approved by the Judges.

Rule 437 s Driver's colours previously stated:

(1) Drivers must wear distinguishing colours and may not drive in a race or other public performance unless, in the opinion of the judges board, they are properly dressed, their driving outfits are clean, and they are well groomed.

(2) During inclement weather conditions, drivers must wear rain suits or winter suits either in their usual distinguishing colours or made of a transparent material through which their colours can be distinguished.
