Edmonton and Calgary have excellent restaurants that offer spectacular views of the track. Food is also available at Lethbridge and Grande Prairie. Why not get a group together for a night out of affordable fun? Make sure you reserve well in advance!

The great thing about horse racing?

It is the only sport/entertainment activity in Canada where you can really study the past performance of an athlete and make an educated wager. For more handicapping tips refer to Handicapping In addition to buying a program, you should purchase a "Tip Sheet". This information, usually only costs $1 and will give you an experts opinion of who he/she thinks is going to win.

When you arrive at the track, take a few moments to become familiar with your surroundings and the tools which will assist you in participating. The Program and the Tote Board will help you help you pick a winner. To get conversant with some of the industry "JARGON" refer to the Glossary Of Terms. If you have, any questions locate the on-track information booth available at all tracks.

If you choose to simply go with your hunch and place a bet based on your own favorites, telephone number or birthday... the minimum bet is $2
